Glamping in Cañuelas

2. A day at Martín García Island
To get to Martín García Island you need to take one of the boats that leave from Tigre. So a stroll through Tigre and its fruit port before taking a boat to Martín García Island is the best complement to your day off. The navigation through the Delta lasts about two hours in which you will enjoy the tranquility and nature of the Rio de la Plata. Once on the island, you can visit the historical museum, the old Urquiza Theater, its own Chinatown or the prison of Perón and Frondizi.
And in case you didn’t know, the writer Ruben Dario lived on Martin Garcia Island, so you can also visit his house. From Tigre there are two boat companies that will take you there: Sturla Viajes and Dan Travel.
3. Hot springs weekend in San Clemente del Tuyú
San Clemente del Tuyú is synonymous of beach and Mundo Marino Park, but also of hot springs. Very close to the center of San Clemente del Tuyú is the Termas Marinas Park. If you don’t have a car, you can take public transportation from San Clemente del Tuyú to Mundo Marino and from there take a cab or remis (from Mundo Marino to the hot springs is 10 minutes).
Ideal to spend the day or stay in a hotel in San Clemente del Tuyo and spend the weekend, the Marinas Park hot springs has 7 pools of different depths, a relaxation room, a water park for children. You can even visit the San Antonio lighthouse. This thermal park is open during the summer months and closes after the weekend of May 25th.
4. Day in the countryside at Estancia La Raquel
Estancia La Raquel is two hours from Buenos Aires and is easy to get to. If you are going to spend a day in the countryside, you will be welcomed around noon with homemade empanadas and the preparation of an asado. Does it include dessert? Of course, homemade flan. 5. Day or weekend in Colonia, Uruguay
If you want to be in another country fast and without feeling far away from Buenos Aires at the same time, you have to cross the Rio de la Plata and visit Colonia. There are two companies that take you there: Colonia Express and Buquebus and both offer Day Tours for the day that include a tour of the city of Colonia and its most important attractions (its coast, its colonial style houses).
You will have lunch, ride a bike and you will not believe that so close to Buenos Aires you had such a peaceful place like this. If you have the possibility to spend the night, there are beautiful hotels or you can even take the bus to Montevideo and see a bit more of Uruguay. Crossing the Rio de la Plata gives your mini-weekend vacation a whole new feel.

Villa Ocampo is a beautiful ranch that belonged to writer Victoria Ocampo and has been a national historic monument since 1997. Nowadays it offers different guided and unguided tours through its gardens, history and architecture. You can visit its huge park or the interior of the house with its spaces and library. Villa Ocampo also has a bistro where you can have lunch or tea and spend an excellent mini-vacation day very close to Buenos Aires any weekend.

8. Escape to Rosario
If you have two full days, it is more than enough to take a mini-vacation and escape to Rosario. And let’s say it too, the city where Messi was born. If you’re in the soccer mood you might want to go straight to the Sports Museum but you’ll have time. Ideally start at the Monumento a la Bandera and head downtown, passing by one of the most important squares in Rosario, Plaza 25 de Mayo.
Then on Pellegrini Avenue you will find many bars and restaurants where you can have something to eat and continue to the Sports Museum. That same day or the next, you have to walk along the Paraná River and finish your afternoon in the area of Pichincha with a good beer or cocktail. If you don’t go by car, there are many companies that leave from Retiro to Rosario: Empresa Argentina, General Urquiza, El Pulqui or Chevallier with some of them.
9. Discover a rural town: Carlos Keen
Carlos Keen is a small town one hour away from Buenos Aires. Visit the Benedictine Basilica, it is becoming very famous for its excellent grills and restaurants.
