October is Charly Month. Charly Week: 3 days of free concerts in Buenos Aires to celebrate the idol’s 75th birthday
To celebrate his 75th birthday, the Usina del Arte is organizing “Charly Week,” three days of pure music—and best of all, with completely free admission.
It’s Charly García’s birthday, and Buenos Aires is celebrating with concerts. Last week it was the Palacio Libertad’s turn, and this week—October 23–25—it’s the Usina del Arte’s turn with a musical journey that brings together performers from different generations to reinterpret Charly’s songbook. We’ll tell you the full lineup and how to secure your spot before tickets sell out (because even though they’re free, reservations are required).
Why “Charly Week” Is Celebrated in Late October

If you’re a fan of Argentine rock, you’ve surely marked this date on your calendar. Charly García was born on October 23, 1951, making this week a true national celebration for music and Argentine rock. In 2026, Charly García turns 75—a milestone that calls for a grand celebration.
What to See at “Charly Week”: The Day-by-Day Schedule
The lineup is very diverse and combines reinterpretations of his songs, tributes, and even a family-friendly show. Here’s the schedule so you can pick your favorite day (or go to all of them!):
- Friday, October 23 (8:00 p.m.): On the exact day of his birthday, the series kicks off with singer Marina Wil, who will perform “Charly García’s Most Beautiful Songs” accompanied by a string quartet. Ian Schifres will handle the arrangements, piano, and musical direction, and the show will feature Pablo Granados as a special guest.
- Saturday, October 24 (8:00 p.m.): The second day kicks off with “Mery Granados and Joaco Burgos Sing to Charly,” an intimate gathering focused on his most beloved songs so everyone can sing along.
- Sunday, October 25 (6:00 p.m.): The closing event is perfect for taking the little ones, as it features the play “Charly in Wonderland,” a magical musical journey that combines the world of Alice and her characters with the artist’s timeless songs.
