If you walk into this pharmacy on Avenida Brasil looking to buy paracetamol or aspirin, you’re out of luck. Farmacia Lezama has long since stopped selling medicines because it has become a French-style bistro restaurant where you can dine as if you were in Paris, by candlelight, surrounded by old medicine bottles. The only restaurant staffed by its nurses.
Farmacia Lezama: The pharmacy where to dine in San Telmo
Farmacia Lezama is in San Telmo. Where the historic Farmacia Lezama Pharmacy once operated, today you will find a restaurant that combines French gastronomy with a unique ambience, which transformed an old place into a special restaurant where the air of an apothecary remains in every corner.
As soon as you walk through the door, you will find wooden shelves full of antique bottles, a vintage scale (yes, you can weigh yourself) and original medical prescriptions, in perfect condition and as if time had not passed. The restoration of this pharmacy-restaurant was meticulous, every detail was respected to maintain the essence of the old pharmacy and at the same time give it the attractive air of a modern restaurant, and they succeeded!
A pharmacy-restaurant specializing in crêpes
The menu of this pharmacy-restaurant is inspired by French gastronomy, with a proposal where salty and sweet crêpes stand out: ham and gruyère cheese crêpes, sweets with chocolate and red fruits and a wide menu for you to find your favorite. And to complete the experience, the service in this peculiar restaurant is carried out by waiters and cooks dressed as apothecaries and nurses.
Farmacia Lezama is an ideal proposal to have a different and unexpected culinary experience, while enjoying a place with a lot of history.
