The 2026 edition of Buenos Aires’ biggest tango celebration is here. Through August 7, more than 50 milongas are opening their doors with live orchestras, open dance floors, and free workshops as part of Milonga Week. We’ll tell you how to get your tickets and where to go dancing.
From August 1 to 7, Buenos Aires celebrates the eighth edition of Milonga Week, an event that brings together 60 milongas across different neighborhoods so you can dive headfirst into tango, learn to dance if you don’t know how, and visit a different milonga every night.
You don’t need to know how to dance or dress up—just bring a desire to have fun.
Free classes and milongas for every taste
Throughout the week, the 60 milongas participating in Milonga Week in Buenos Aires offer you:
- Free open classes taught by instructors from the tango scene—perfect if you want to take your first steps.
- Live orchestras and guest performers, including ensembles and quartets, live music, and nights of dancing.
Among the standout venues in the neighborhoods are classics in Villa Crespo (such as the milongas at Club Villa Malcom and Club Fulgor), spots in Palermo (Parakultural, La María Tango), Flores, Monserrat, and Casa Brandon.
Party Finale in Palermo
The grand finale of Milongas Week 2026 takes place on Friday, August 7, starting at 9:45 p.m. at the cathedral of dance: La Viruta Tango Club (Armenia 1366). There, the Esteban Morgado Quartet and the dance duo of Aldana Tade and Julio Seffino will take the stage.
How to Get Free Tickets
Admission to all Milongas Week events is free, but since space is limited, you’ll need to make a reservation in advance:
- Book online: Reservations are made through this form ( with limited spots available for each milonga and confirmation via email).
- Walk-in admission: If you weren’t able to make a reservation in advance or prefer to decide at the last minute, you can go directly to the milonga of your choice and pay the admission fee at the box office.
