The Secrets of the Macro Tower: A Hidden Gallery in Puerto Madero
The main hall of the Macro Tower in Puerto Madero is a gem of modern architecture, and right here in this space with its high, light-filled ceilings lies a secret museum—a space that will surprise you with unique artists and works, guided tours, and free admission.
The Macro Tower was designed by César Pelli’s firm and combines cutting-edge corporate-style design with open art exhibitions. For years, the works in the corporate collection were displayed exclusively in meeting rooms and private offices—behind closed doors. But imagine that these works—by artists such as Antonio Berni, Marta Minujín, Clorindo Testa, Julio Le Parc, and the Mondongo collective—were visible to no one but the company’s own executives.
With the tower’s construction, the project was born to bring those “hidden” works out into the open and onto the street. That’s how the ground floor was opened up as a space where anyone can enjoy world-class art without paying an admission fee.

Unlike traditional art museums, the Macro Tower’s art space makes the most of its location next to the Río de la Plata and the natural light streaming in through the glass windows designed by César Pelli.
Are there guided tours?
The answer is yes. Although you can explore the exhibition on your own at any time during opening hours, the Macro Tower offers the option to schedule guided tours for groups, which must be arranged in advance by sending an email to fundacion@macro.com.ar.
