This Halloween, the National Railway Museum of Buenos Aires transforms into an enchanting scene of terror for three nights: hop on the ghost train and celebrate Halloween with spooky characters, music, themed makeup, a food court, and plenty of surprises.
From October 30 to November 1, the Buenos Aires Railway Museum opens its doors so you can dress up and celebrate Halloween in Buenos Aires. On Friday, October 30, Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, you’ll be able to explore the museum’s historic train cars while encountering ghosts, witches, and spectres that seem to have traveled from other eras, as well as a food court —because even zombies get hungry.
The Railway Museum’s Ghost Train awaits you with much more than just a themed ride: step inside a building steeped in history—with over a century and a half of memories, steam locomotives, station clocks, telegraphs, and original uniforms—that transforms into the perfect setting to spend the evening among cobwebs, witches, and ghosts roaming the space. And you can dress up as whatever terrifying character you want!
The experience is rounded out with food stands and an entrepreneurs’ fair, while a live DJ sets the tone for the night with a mix of dark beats and spine-chilling tunes.
For the more curious among you, there will also be tarot card readings, horror movie screenings, workshops to make amulets, and areas for themed makeup. Iconic scenes from horror movies will also be recreated so you can take photos among the train cars and go home with unique souvenirs. Remember, you can come in costume, no matter your age
Did you know that the Railway Museum has the presidential car that transported Pope John Paul II in 1982, as well as original 19th-century machinery? Will spirits from the past also appear this Halloween night?
Don’t miss a totally unique Halloween night in Buenos Aires aboard a Ghost Train. Admission to this Halloween celebration is included in the general museum admission. Tickets cost 5,000 pesos (children under 3 are free, as are seniors and CUD cardholders) and can be purchased directly at the museum ticket office on the day of the event.
If you’re looking for a unique way to spend Halloween in Buenos Aires, the Railway Museum’s Ghost Train is just what you’ve been waiting for.
