This year, marked as 4723 in the Chinese calendar, is destined to be memorable as it kicks off the Year of the Snake. When is Chinese New Year 2025 in CABA?
The celebrations for the Chinese New Year 2025 in Buenos Aires already have a definite date: January 25 and 26.
On January 25 you will celebrate the Chinese New Year in Buenos Aires at the Bario Chino, with dragon and lion dances, traditional dances and a Shaolin Kung Fu show. From noon to 8 pm, at Avenida Juramento and VIAVIVA, you will experience a day of traditional shows, dances, music and typical flavors.
In addition, you can take advantage of special promotions during the weekend of January 25 and 26, as well as February 1 and 2.
On January 26, the celebrations for the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Snake, are concentrated in Plaza Parques Nacionales, on Figueroa Alcorta and Sucre avenues.
There will probably be more events and the celebration will extend until the first days of February. As every year, Buenos Aires Chinatown will be the epicenter, along with the Plaza Parques Nacionales Argentinos, which will have an impressive stage for live shows and stands scattered around the square.
Like every Chinese New Year celebration, you will be able to enjoy a wide variety of stalls where you can buy decorative items, as well as authentic Chinese food and drinks.
Matching last year’s celebration, this 2025 celebration will feature local Chinese talents, a display of Chinese lion dances, martial arts exhibitions and Tai chi displays.
