There is a building in Buenos Aires that holds centuries of history: It is not a museum, nor an urban palace of the many in Buenos Aires. The building that opens its doors for guided tours so you can discover all its scenic history is the Casa del Teatro. Discover all the stories it holds, the celebrities that have passed through its stage and the most incredible vintage clothing fair you can imagine.
All about the guided tours at the Casa del Teatro and its store with clothes donated by celebrities.
The Casa del Teatro was founded in 1938 by Regina Pacini de Alvear, who in addition to being the wife of former president Marcelo T. de Alvear was a lyric singer and surely that is where her love for art and artists on stage came from. The Casa del Teatro de Buenos Aires was created with the mission of being a home for artists in vulnerable situations and part of its work is still aimed at protecting the rights of actors.

The Casa del Teatro is a residence for retired actors and actresses and a reservoir of documents, photographs, books and personal objects that tell the story of those who represent the Argentine theatrical world.
Guided tours: Discover the nooks and crannies of the Regina Theater and the boutique that keeps the clothes of famous Argentine actors.
The building where the Casa del Teatro is located is a historic construction of several levels, and part of the guided tours are done by stairs.
Guided tours of the Casa del Teatro take place every Saturday and allow you to tour its ten floors. Each level reveals a different aspect of the Argentine theatrical world: from the library and reading room to the rooms where epoch-making artists lived, and on these guided tours you will move among costumes, legends and Buenos Aires architecture. The estimated duration of the tour is approximately one hour and tickets can be obtained in advance and exclusively through the Plateanet site, since spaces are limited.
There is also access to the Regina Theater, the costume museum, which preserves costumes and personal objects of great figures, and the domes of the building, located on the terrace. So, besides touring the history of the theater, you will finish your guided tour with a view of Buenos Aires from the top of Santa Fe Avenue.
