The weather’s been a bit erratic, and the sun hasn’t shown its face in Buenos Aires for days. It’s cold in the morning—but not cold enough to bundle up—and then you’re sweltering. All at the same time. If you’re wondering when the weather will settle down a bit, or if you were planning an outdoor weekend, you’re going to have to rethink your plans. The weather forecast for Buenos Aires predicts a drastic change in the coming days: a four-day “storm” is on its way that will definitively sweep away the cold air mass, making way for much more spring-like temperatures.
When will it rain, and when will the heat return to Buenos Aires? We’ll give you a day-by-day breakdown so you know what to wear and which days are best for planning an outing or organizing an outdoor event.
When will the storm hit Buenos Aires? The rain-soaked schedule

Unstable weather will set in across Buenos Aires and the surrounding areas starting midweek. According to weather reports from the SMN, we’re in for four consecutive days when your umbrella will be your best friend:
- Thursday, October 22: The storm makes its official debut. Light rain is expected, mainly in the early morning and at night. Temperatures will be pleasant, ranging from 14°C to 21°C.
- Friday, October 23: The skies over Buenos Aires will remain mostly overcast. Light rain will return in the afternoon and evening, with a high of 21°C.
- Saturday, October 24: The worst day for outdoor plans. A wet front will bring light but intermittent rain throughout the day. In addition, temperatures will drop (low of 13°C and high of 16°C), and strong winds are expected.
- Sunday, October 25: The last day of unsettled weather. The sky will remain overcast with scattered showers and somewhat cool conditions. Temperatures will range from 11°C to 17°C.
Goodbye cold, hello spring warmth: when will the temperature rise?
The good news for those desperately waiting for the heat is that this entire unstable weather front has one mission: to drive the cold away for good. Once the rains leave the AMBA area, the weather will change and the heat will arrive.
Starting Monday, October 26, the rain will clear up, leaving a sky with clouds and sunny spells. But the drastic change will be felt on Tuesday, October 27, when the thermometer will climb to 22°C under mostly clear skies.
Be patient with the rain—true spring is just around the corner!
