This week, from Friday, November 6, through Friday, November 13, Buenos Aires’ cultural calendar features several free events: a play at the Teatro Colón with free admission, a literature festival with a workshop and concert, and animated film screenings and music performances. Here are the dates, times, and details for each event.
Today, Friday the 6th: Animated Shorts on a Terrace
SMOF at Night is a screening of stop-motion animated shorts, among other styles, taking place on the ArtHaus terrace this Friday, November 6, at 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $8,000 for the general public and $4,000 for students and seniors, and can be purchased through the Alternativa Teatral platform.
If you’re looking for a night of alternative and independent cinema, SMOF features seven top-tier international productions: *Lodo* and *Madrugada no Edifício Terezinha* (Brazil), *Dog Apartment* and *A Most Exquisite Man* (Estonia), *Humantis* (United States), *Tío* (Mexico), and *Do Not Feed the Pigeons* (United Kingdom).
My Young Life Has an End, at the Teatro Colón
Pablo Rotemberg’s play is being presented at the Teatro Colón (Cerrito 628) with free admission. This week, there are performances on Saturday, November 7, Saturday, November 14, and Sunday, November 15, all at 8:00 p.m. The season continues on Saturdays, November 21 and 28, and Sundays, November 22 and 29.
Tickets can be picked up at the Information Desk—up to two per person—starting one hour before each screening. It’s best to arrive early.
El Jardín Suena, at the Larreta Museum
On Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. through the end of November, the Enrique Larreta Museum of Spanish Art (Av. Juramento 2291) presents the El Jardín Suena concerts. Admission is included in the museum entrance fee: $10,000 for general admission and $2,000 for Argentine residents. On Wednesdays, admission is free for residents. If it rains, the concerts will still take place.

Festival Salvaje Federal, the weekend of November 14 and 15
The 2026 Salvaje Federal Festival comes to Buenos Aires on Saturday, November 14, and Sunday, November 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with free admission. There are two free workshops that require prior registration: one at the Australia artists’ residency in Barracas, and another at the Biblioteca Parque de la Estación in Balvanera.
On Saturday the 14th at 8:30 p.m., Juan Tata Cedrón will give a free concert paying tribute to criollo music as part of the festival. That same Saturday, there’s a performance of *Rotemberg* at the Teatro Colón at 8:00 p.m., so it looks like you’ll have to choose between the two events for that night.
