It’s 40 years since the premiere of Waiting for the Chariot and there’s no better way to celebrate it than watching this classic Argentine film on the big screen this May 8. Waiting for the Chariot returns to this movie theater.
Waiting for the Chariot from May 8th at Cinépolis
Waiting for the Chariot returns to theaters with a digitally restored copy. Starting May 8, you will be able to see the film directed by Alejandro Doria again on the big screen, this time in all Cinépolis theaters and other chains in the country, for a limited time.
Released in 1985, Esperando La Carroza eventually became one of the most remembered and quoted comedies of national cinema (the phrase of the three empanadas is now part of history), thanks to a sharp script, memorable performances and a satire that is still relevant today.
The cast could not have more excellent actors: Luis Brandoni, China Zorrilla, Antonio Gasalla, Julio De Grazia, Juan Manuel Tenuta and Betiana Blum, among others.
What is Waiting for the Chariot about?
If you are very young and don’t know what Esperando La Carroza is about, the plot revolves around a family reunion that gets out of control when the eternal question arises: who will take care of the grandmother, Mamá Cora? The situation escalates to absurdity when everyone believes that the old lady threw herself onto the train tracks.
The new version of Alejandro Doria’s film was restored in high definition and allows you to enjoy the details of the film as never before. The Cinépolis chain has confirmed its inclusion on the billboard, and it is expected that other theaters will join the proposal during May. Don’t miss Waiting for the Chariot in theaters this month.
