This Thursday , February 19, the CGT has called a 24-hour general strike in rejection of the labor reform bill being debated in the Chamber of Deputies. Which services will operate and which will not.
Transportation, flights, and subways during the general strike on February 19: which services will not be operating on Thursday, February 19
For the general strike on February 19, public transportation services will be interrupted throughout the day. This means that:
👉There will be no buses or coaches, either urban or long-distance.
👉Metropolitan and regional trains will not run, affecting key lines in and outside the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.
👉The subway and Premetro will be out of service, as the Metrodelegados union has joined the strike.
👉Taxis and remises will also be affected, given the support of the transport unions.
But the impact is not limited to ground transportation. The strike will also affect the aviation sector: unions such as the Association of Aviation Personnel and the pilots’ unions have confirmed their participation, which will leave no scheduled domestic or international flights during the day of the strike.
Likewise, gas stations, truck drivers, sailors, and other sectors linked to logistics are also expected to halt their activities.
This means that airports such as Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and Ezeiza will not have regular operations, and those who had scheduled trips will have to reschedule or arrange refunds in advance.
