In 2025, Buenos Aires will incorporate two public transportation options in addition to buses and subway. Get ready to travel by Minibus or Trambus, two new ways to travel around CABA. Find out where the Trambus and Minibus will travel and how much it will cost.
Minibuses in CABA: Move around the old town
The Minibuses have a design, between a colectivo and a combi, they are electric minibuses and will circulate through the historic center of San Telmo, connecting it with the Center from North to South. Their capacity will be between 15 and 30 passengers, and in a first stage, they will focus on connecting key points such as Parque Lezama and Retiro.
The minibuses are a new means of transportation in Buenos Aires which, in addition to being environmentally friendly, will be silent and ecological, also designed to facilitate the mobility of elderly people in areas where traffic is usually complex. As this is a pilot test, the service could be free of charge or have a symbolic fare.
Trambus: The best of a streetcar and a public transport system
On the other hand, in 2025 Buenos Aires will also have the Trambus. This is an option that combines the best of a streetcar and a colectivo. The Trambus does not need rails, they will be fully electric and emission-free units that will carry between 75 and 85 passengers. The first 20 trambus are expected to start operating in the first half of 2025.
