Although it may seem impossible, it’s a reality because it’s coming to Buenos Aires this August. “Summer Opera, ” a series from the Paris Opera with free admission, takes place on August 28.

In the middle of August, the 2026 edition of “Summer Opera” arrives in Buenos Aires. Don’t let the name fool you: it’s named after the European summer. It’s an initiative launched by the Paris National Opera to bring its most iconic productions to audiences around the world—in this case, the people of Buenos Aires.
The Alliance Française is hosting this event, which will project one of the season’s most captivating performances onto a large, high-definition screen.
On Friday, August 28, at 7:00 p.m., the auditorium on Avenida Córdoba will be transformed to offer you a triple bill of dance. The program brings together three of the most influential choreographers in history, on a journey ranging from the neoclassical tradition to contemporary creation:
- George Balanchine’s “Who Cares?”: A piece that celebrates American musicals, all set to the melodies of George Gershwin.
- Maurice Béjart’s “Boléro”: Get ready for a mesmerizing interpretation of Maurice Ravel’s famous work.
- Crystal Pite’s *The Seasons’ Canon*: A contemporary work that explores the relationship between humans and nature.
