Sarcophagi, a Funeral Mask, and the Curse of the Pharaoh: This is the immersive Tutankhamun exhibition coming to Buenos Aires
In 1922, archaeologist Howard Carter found a virtually intact tomb in the Valley of the Kings. What was inside changed the history of archaeology forever: more than 5,500 objects, including an 11-kilogram solid gold funeral mask, a triple sarcophagus, war chariots, jewelry, and amulets that no one had touched in more than 3,300 years.
That tomb belonged to Pharaoh Tutankhamun, and today an exhibition brings the world of this Pharaoh and Egypt to Buenos Aires. Tutankhamun was nine years old when he ascended the throne and nineteen when he died, and since June, that story has been coming to Buenos Aires.
What is the Tutankhamun experience?
Starting on June 4, El Cubo in Vicente López brings you an immersive experience dedicated to the tomb of Tutankhamun, the most impressive archaeological find of the 20th century. The tour of this immersive exhibition combines technology, design, and narrative to bring you closer to 150 certified objects, the history, and the mysteries surrounding the famous “boy pharaoh.” You will be able to learn all this from Buenos Aires, without having to travel to Cairo.
Why Tutankhamun is coming to Buenos Aires and how to get tickets
The Tutankhamun exhibition brings you closer to the tomb that fascinated the world when it was discovered. His tomb was the only royal chamber ever found almost intact in the Valley of the Kings, and Tutankhamun’s funeral mask is one of the most recognized objects in world art.
If you go to this immersive experience about Egypt, you will also learn about the famous “curse of the pharaoh.” If you are already curious, remember that this exhibition arrives in Buenos Aires on June 4, 2026, and tickets will be on sale on the Tuentrada website.
