New Year’s Eve is here and you don’t want to eat the same as on December 31. Maybe you don’t have any leftovers, maybe you want to start the year differently. We have a list of restaurants open on New Year’s Eve and bars open on January 1st so you can find out where to have lunch or dinner in Buenos Aires on this day.
1. Kuro Neko
Add dishes full of Nikkei flavors to your January 1st. Kuro Neko offers you on New Year’s Day a 2×1 on all its sake-based signature cocktails. The first noritaco bar in Buenos Aires has for New Year’s Day a dish of the day with classic ceviche (fish of the day marinated in tiger’s milk, aji limo, red onion and cilantro, glazed sweet potato and chulpe corn) and the nikkei tiradito (pink salmon slices bathed in tiger’s milk of yellow chili with passion fruit, finished with ikura black. Obviously you will also be able to try their usual taco menu. Hours: from 12hs to 00hs.

2. Ciro
On Wednesday , January 1, starting at noon, Ciro opens its doors: this Italian-inspired café and restaurant is located in Puerto Madero and Palermo and has a menu that includes everything from sandwiches and alternatives for breakfast and snacks on January 1, to main dishes for lunch and dinner on New Year’s Eve.

3. La Dorita
If you are looking for restaurants open on New Year’s Day, this January 1 La Dorita opens from 7 p.m. on. This Palermo steakhouse stands out for its pasture-raised meats roasted over quebracho firewood, classic achuras and premium cuts, accompanied by traditional and creative side dishes. It also has home cooking options and desserts, such as homemade flan and dulce de leche pancakes. Sounds like a great menu to welcome 2o25 without cooking.
📍 Humboldt 1892; Bulnes 2593.
4. Desarmadero
Desarmadero Bar and Desarmadero Session are two beer bars in Palermo with more than 41 taps and luckily for you they are two of the bars or restaurants open on New Year’s Eve in Buenos Aires. If you want to start 2025 with pure fun, Desarmadero Session offers a happy hour from 6pm to 8pm on January 1st. From 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, you can order beers of different styles such as IPA, APA, Pilsen, Honey and Hefeweizen, as well as selected cocktails at special prices.
📍Gorriti 4300 and 4295
5. Siphon
On January 1, New Year’s Day, Sifón will be open from 7 pm, as will Sifoncito, the place on Paseo La Plaza. This place pays tribute to soda, with vermouths, summer reds and cocktails. Enjoy the first day of 2025 on their patio and terrace and order a good vermouth. There aren’t many restaurants open on New Year’s Eve, but whether you’re in Chacarita or Downtown, Sifón is a good option for not eating at home this January 1st.
