Buenos Aires can once again boast of its architecture because one of its most beautiful palaces is reopening its doors, fully renovated, and doing so on a very special date: May 25, the anniversary of the Revolution.
In the heart of Villa Devoto, the Palacio Ceci reopens its doors to the public this Monday, May 25, following a comprehensive restoration that has restored it to the splendor of its golden years,
To celebrate this May 25, the doors of Buenos Aires’ “Versailles” open to offer free guided tours, along with churros, hot chocolate, and free outdoor activities to turn this special day into a celebration.
The “Versailles” of Villa Devoto: a 1900s palace returns, restored
Built between 1913 and 1918 by Italian engineer Alfredo Ceci, the Palacio Ceci is one of Buenos Aires’ palaces exemplifying Beaux-Arts architecture. This building began as a family residence and, after decades of housing the Bartolomé Ayrolo School (closely linked to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community), the palace underwent a long period of deterioration that will end in 2026, when it reopens so that the entire neighborhood can once again enjoy its imposing Carrara marble, historic stained-glass windows, Slavonian oak floors, and its new glass-enclosed elevator.

Hot chocolate, pastries, and tradition at Plaza Arenales
The reopening of the Palacio Ceci goes far beyond that, because as part of the May 25 celebrations and activities, Plaza Arenales will be filled with free activities, also offering hot chocolate and pastries.

Here are the activities scheduled for this May 25 in Villa Devoto:
- Free guided tours through the palace’s halls.
- Traditional stands with hot chocolate, pastries, and churros.
- Live folk music and dance performances.
- Workshops and recreational activities perfect for visiting with children.
