MALBA is celebrating its anniversary this September by opening its doors with free admission and a series of events to make a visit to the museum in Buenos Aires feel like a party. From September 18 to 21, 2026, you can view the exhibitions at the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires completely free of charge . During those days, you can attend the opening of the “Viva Frida” exhibition for free, as well as an international seminar, DJ sets in Plaza Perú, a haute couture fashion show, creative workshops , and outdoor film screenings with live music.

Malba’s schedule of free activities is packed, and there’s something for everyone, from viewing its art exhibitions to enjoying live music and screenings under the stars. The celebration officially kicks off on the evening of Saturday, September 19, with the opening of the “Viva Frida” exhibition.
At Plaza Perú, the cultural celebration continues outdoors with music and DJ sets hosted by Malba Joven. On Sunday, September 20, at sunset, the must-see event is the haute couture fashion show on the esplanade featuring designers Natalia Antolín and Carla Fernández, followed by a screening of the legendary silent film *Metropolis* (1927), accompanied by a live orchestra.
The schedule of free activities for Malba’s anniversary is as follows:
- Free admission to the exhibitions: From Saturday, September 19, through Monday, September 21, you can explore the museum without paying an admission fee.
- The “Viva Frida” exhibition: It officially opens on Saturday the 19th in the evening, alongside three new sections of the permanent collection.
- Music and DJ Sets in the Plaza: On Saturday night, Plaza Perú transforms into an open-air party organized by Malba Joven.
