If you grew up reading Quino’s comic strips and Mafalda and her friends are your favorite characters, get ready—the world of Mafalda, Manolito, Susanita, Felipe, and all their friends has been transformed into an immersive exhibition where you can delve into their clever world, which is both grown-up and childlike at the same time.
Mafalda Inmersiva is now in Buenos Aires—a world-class experience that lets you walk (literally—you’ll be walking through the spaces created for the comic strip by Quino’s imagination) through the universe of our favorite pocket-sized philosopher.
Following its exclusive world premiere in Buenos Aires, the exhibition plans to go on an international tour. So, if you’re in CABA, you have the privilege of being among the first to experience it. We’ll tell you what it’s all about and everything you’ll be able to do in this Mafalda Inmersiva universe.
Quino’s Universe on a Grand Scale: What You’ll Find at Mafalda Inmersiva
The exhibition is at the Recoleta Cultural Center, and it’s not just any exhibition. It’s a 60-minute sensory adventure that unfolds across 1,300 m² divided into 13 themed rooms. The goal is clear: to make you feel as though you’ve stepped off the page and into the comic strip itself.

Mafalda’s Room: You’ll be able to walk through Mafalda’s room, explore her city, and even step inside Don Manolo’s famous grocery store.
Your experience through the 13 themed rooms is enhanced by 360° projections with surround sound, interactive touchscreens, and sculptures of the characters. In addition, the exhibition was designed so you can experience scents and textures and listen to original music composed specifically for the tour.
Room 14: A Virtual Reality Journey
The must-see is Room 14: “Dreaming of Mafalda.” It’s an optional (separate ticket required) multi-user virtual reality experience that lasts 10 minutes.

In groups of six, guided by Sara (a teenage fan of the comic strip), you’ll put on VR headsets to immerse yourself in the characters’ deepest dreams. Have you ever imagined what Mafalda’s dream of becoming a UN translator looks like, Manolito’s entrepreneurial dream, or Susanita’s dream wedding? Here, you’ll experience it firsthand.
Mafalda Inmersiva is designed both for those feeling nostalgic who want to reconnect with their childhood and for new generations just discovering the questions posed by the little girl who hated Argentina’s most famous soup.
