At Maipu 912 you will find the Bencich Palace, a mansion built in 1914 by architects Eduardo M. Lanús and Pablo Hary, a sample of the European influence of the time in the Buenos Aires architecture of the early twentieth century. In its beginnings, it was the residence of the Hunter family, one of the many important and wealthy families of the time.
Later, it was acquired by the Bencich brothers, renowned real estate entrepreneurs. Since 2018, this palace in Buenos Aires became the headquarters of the Korean Cultural Center, the heart of South Korean culture in Latin America.
The Bencich Palace combines an eclectic style with French style, influenced by L’École des Beaux-Arts, the dominant current in Buenos Aires in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Moldings, columns, ornate ceilings and monumental staircases coexist today with objects brought from South Korea.
If you are interested in Korean culture or just curious, the Korean Cultural Center in Buenos Aires offers courses in Korean, cooking and traditional dance, as well as art workshops, festivals, film screenings and meetings on Korean literature.

Inside the building you will see hanbok costumes, references to traditional hanok architectural design and a selection of South Korean furniture that contrasts with the Bencich Palace’s original glass moldings and chandeliers.

These guided tours usually take place three times a month. To participate in them, you only have to register in this form, because space is limited.
