A new month of 2026 is here, and with it come new transportation fare increases. Starting May 1 , new fare increases for buses, the subway, and tolls will take effect, with a 5.4% adjustment. How much does it cost to ride the bus starting in May
In Buenos Aires, the minimum bus fare will be $753.74 for those with a registered SUBE card, while longer routes can cost up to $966.
In the provinces, the increase begins on May 4 and brings the minimum fare to $918.35, with longer routes potentially exceeding $1,000.
Subway fares are also increasing

The subway isn’t left out of the price hike either . Starting in May, the subway fare goes from $1,414 to $1,490 with a registered SUBE card. If you don’t have one registered in your name, the fare goes up to $2,369.
Toll fees are going up
Tolls on Buenos Aires highways are also increasing by the same percentage (5.4%). With this new adjustment, getting around within the AMBA becomes more expensive whether you use public transportation or drive your own car.
