It’s still summer, and the nights in Buenos Aires are cooling down a bit. Why stay cooped up at home when you can be outdoors watching movies? There are many fantastic terraces where you can have a drink, but nothing compares to watching movies under the stars in January and February in CABA.
1. Outdoor cinema in Buenos Aires: Casa del Bicentenario

On Saturdays and Sundays in February at 8 p.m., La Casa del Bicentenario in Buenos Aires offers an outdoor film series featuring the most renowned Argentine films of recent years. Argentine documentaries and fiction films under the stars.
Don’t miss thrillers, dramas, suspense stories, political satires, and many other genres.
To close the series, this outdoor film series in Buenos Aires will pay special tribute to the 15th anniversary of the premiere of Diablo, the film by Nicanor Loreti, a cult classic that paved the way for Argentine action cinema.
The screenings take place in the large courtyard of the Casa and are attended by the directors and stars. And best of all:they are notcanceled due to bad weather or rain.

2. Summer cinema in a historic building in Buenos Aires

La Manzana de las Luces is organizing a film series this summer with two films that were very popular in Buenos Aires cinemas and among local programming. Admission is free, no reservation is required, and screenings will not be canceled due to rain. Screenings will take place from February 11 to February 25, on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

3. La Usina del Arte and its outdoor film series this January and February
This summer, the Plaza de la Usina in La Boca becomes an open-air cinema with two unmissable film screenings under the stars, as part of the BAFICI Selection. Admission to both screenings is free.

A documentary that portrays Sumo in the days leading up to a historic concert at the Estadio Obras, during the presentation of their latest album and shortly before the death of Luca Prodan.

A special night combining music and cinema: mini concert by El conjuro de las cumbias tristes, soundtrack of Gatillero, followed by the screening of the film, an intense thriller set on Isla Maciel. (+16)
4. Open-air cinema in Vicente Lopez
The Casa Abierta cycle revives a summer classic with screenings under the stars at Quinta Trabucco in Florida and a special screening in front of the York Cinema. The event invites you to enjoy a program dedicated to Studio Ghibli animations with your family, ideal for bringing a deck chair, blanket, or chair and letting yourself be carried away by great stories.
During the series , Princess Mononoke, From Up on Poppy Hill, and Kiki’s Delivery Service will be screened at Quinta Trabucco, and Spirited Away will be screened in front of the York Cinema.
The screenings will take place from January 22 to February 12, every Thursday at 8:30 p.m., with free admission and access on a first-come, first-served basis. The films will be shown dubbed in Spanish.
