Buenos Aires celebrates the Fire Festival at the Japanese Garden: Drums and a giant bonfire to burn the bad things of your 2025
This November 2, don’t miss the Fire Festival in Buenos Aires. This unique celebration is known as Megumi Matsuri and is a symbolic way to leave behind all the negative of your year…. burning it.
The Fire Festival is a very important annual event in the Japanese tradition and you will be able to experience it this November 2nd if you go to the Japanese garden. When you arrive, you will be offered a wooden tablet where you have to write all the bad things that happened to you and that you want to leave behind.
Afterwards, you will place your tablet on a metal tree that acts as a portal of transformation where all the negative things of your year will be trapped. This is where the magic of fire comes into play.
The master of ceremonies will light the tree and form a bonfire where all the negative things are purified and disappear. If you have never seen it, it is a very hypnotizing ritual, close to the water where the Koi fish swim, so typical of this Japanese Garden in Buenos Aires.
