Soccer in our country goes beyond what we understand as passion: it’s part of our identity, our culture, and our DNA, passed down from generation to generation. From Diego’s dribbles to Leo’s magic, much of our stars’ history begins far from the big stadiums—on dirt roads, schoolyards, and neighborhood fields.
There, on the potrero, you learn to face your opponent, give it your all until the very last minute, and defend your colors. For those who live and breathe soccer, the Copa Potrero invites you to enjoy the most beautiful sport in the world right where it all began.

But don’t expect a conventional tournament… The format includes rules designed to ensure the spectacle lives up to the crowd’s expectations: goals can be scored from anywhere on the field, and in the event of a tie, the winner is decided by a penalty kick taken at a special goal in front of the crowd. A combination that promises open-ended matches, close finals, and more than one chance to cheer on a spectacular goal.
What You Need to Know About the Copa Potrero

Created in 2024 on the initiative of Sergio “Kun” Agüero, former forward for the Argentine national team and star of Manchester City and Independiente, the Copa Potrero aims to shine a spotlight on amateur soccer and the teams that represent their neighborhoods, with a competitive format that also brings together former professional players, sports figures, and content creators.
If you can’t make it to Ciudad Universitaria, you’ll be able to follow the competition from home via the broadcast on ESPN and Disney+.
