When you think of the Automóvil Club Argentino, you rarely associate it with concerts. That is about to change. Candlelight is coming to its headquarters on Avenida Libertador for the first time with its famous tribute concerts. The premiere will be on February 28 at the César Carman Auditorium, which will open to the general public for the first time after having been a space for the exclusive use of the club. A unique auditorium, steeped in history, which can now be discovered not only with live music, but also by candlelight.
The historic auditorium of the Automóvil Club Argentino opens to the general public: this new concert series will allow you to discover it
The Automóvil Club Argentino building is not just any place. It is the headquarters of the oldest automotive institution in the country and one of the most impressive rationalist buildings in Buenos Aires. Inside is the automobile museum, with gems from the world’s collections, along with other spaces such as the outstanding César Carman Auditorium, decorated with original murals by artist Emilio Centurión.
And the unique character of the venue is also reflected in the concert chosen for the premiere.
It will be a tribute to Queen and ABBA, two essential bands in the history of pop and rock, and will take place on Saturday, February 28. From Mamma Mia and Bohemian Rhapsody to Dancing Queen and We Will Rock You, the evening offers a journey through the greatest hits of both bands.
The concert will feature two performances, at 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., by the Velse quartet, who will play surrounded by thousands of candles. A staging that combines the closeness of live music with the intimate atmosphere of Candlelight concerts.
Tickets are now available starting at $21,000. Since this is the premiere at this venue, it is advisable to reserve in advance. Doors will open 45 minutes before the start and no entry will be allowed once the concert has begun.
