The second weekend of October brings an edition of Open House Buenos Aires 2026 (OHBA). It’s your chance to discover buildings in the city of Buenos Aires that are remarkable for their architecture— all for free. Some are historic buildings, but many are residential buildings. Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4—we’ll tell you how to visit the 150 public and private buildings that are opening their doors to the public for free.
Join Open House 2026: How to visit the 150 buildings and spaces that are open to the public for free
Open House Buenos Aires is your chance to step inside the buildings you always see around the city and wonder what they’re like on the inside, who created and designed them, and most importantly, what it would be like to live inside them. During a weekend in October, those buildings that are usually closed open their doors so you can explore them on free guided tours: Open House 2026features walking tours, bike tours, and even a photography tour so that, in addition to discovering more than 100 must-see buildings in Buenos Aires, you can capture them with your camera.
Historic buildings, modern gems, private residences, and iconic landmarks that make up Buenos Aires’ heritage will be open to the public during Open House Buenos Aires in October.
Visits do not require prior registration, with very few exceptions. In those cases, you’ll need to sign up by filling out this form.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep in mind that some buildings have limited capacity and that the last group will be admitted up to half an hour before the session ends. Don’t wait too long! In addition to access to the buildings, OHBA 2026 features two initiatives that invite you to explore Buenos Aires from new perspectives:
👉Walk Buenos Aires: a series of guided walks through different neighborhoods, designed to tell the city’s history through its architecture and urban planning. On this tour, you’ll explore and discover the architecture of Belgrano, Av. de Mayo (the Belle Époque boulevard), and Recoleta, among many others.
👉 Open Bici: If you like the idea of exploring Buenos Aires by bike, you can do that, too. With themed bike tours, you’ll be able to ride through neighborhoods and discover stories related to design, literature, and the urban fabric as you cycle through Barracas, La Boca, Monserrat, and Puerto Madero.
