On May 23, Buenos Aires celebrates Obelisk Night, and the highlight of the evening is a 3D projection show projected directly onto the Obelisk, transforming it into a canvas and a stage where you can discover the night in Buenos Aires with fresh eyes.
In addition to a light show on the Obelisk, you’ll find live music and various activities to accompany the celebration all night long.
Corrientes 24-hour celebration of the Obelisk: theaters, bars, and restaurants until dawn

During Obelisk Night, a new edition of Corrientes 24-Hour is also taking place, where Corrientes Avenue becomes an avenue that never sleeps, with theaters offering evening performances, bookstores open late, classic pizzerias and bars operating all night long, and cultural and culinary offerings along the avenue.
Plus, on these special nights, the Subway usually runs until 3 a.m., so you can enjoy everything without worrying about how to get home.
The Obelisk Turns 90: The Story of a Buenos Aires Symbol
The Obelisk is not just a tourist attraction: it is the great symbol of Buenos Aires. It was inaugurated on May 23, 1936, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the first founding of Buenos Aires and was designed by architect Alberto Prebisch.
