5. A very patriotic play
Oh, my homeland! It is a theatrical diptych that reflects on the founding myth of the homeland. It is made up of two plays. The first one: “Madre Patria” (Motherland), shows the story of a woman who claims to incarnate the “Patria” herself and to be the bearer of the womb that gave genesis to the whole national mythology.
The second work is called “El desierto de los Bárbaros” (The Desert of the Barbarians) and is set in the time of the conquest of the desert. Miranda, a tracker and baqueano, is sent together with Bufón Savino to the Laguna del indio muerto (Lagoon of the dead Indian) to unveil an enigma. His horses flee in panic. Waiting to be rescued, they will face their own ghosts.
