If you need to get around downtown this Thursday—whether you’re joining the march or not—here’s everything you need to know about schedules and meeting points.
What time and where are the gathering points for the October 15 university march?
The focal point of the mobilization for public education is Plaza Congreso. The various faculties, unions, and universities will begin arriving around noon and throughout the afternoon. Here is the schedule:
- 1:00 p.m.: The National University of the Arts (UNA) calls for participants to gather behind its banner at the intersection of Av. de Mayo and Salta.
- 1:30 p.m.: Teachers’ unions such as AGDUBA are calling for a rally and a work stoppage to mobilize participants.
- 4:00 p.m.: This is the main gathering point for institutions such as the UBA (University of Buenos Aires), located directly in Plaza Congreso.
The lead-up begins on Wednesday, October 14, with a day of public lectures. The UNA will be in front of the Pizzurno Palace starting at 11:00 a.m., and there will be similar events in Plaza de Mayo.

Why the march is taking place: The reasons behind the protest
The conflict between the national government and the universities has been ongoing for nearly a year and has escalated to the judicial level. The main focuses of this fifth march are:

- Wage Recalibration
- 2027 Budget Update and Scholarships
A special session of the Chamber of Deputies is scheduled for this Thursday, October 15. As a result, the student mobilization will be joined by other groups, such as organizations calling for an extension of the National Emergency on Disability, retirees, labor unions, and groups demanding the definitive rejection of DNU 70/2023.
