On November 14, Buenos Aires is getting ready for another edition of Museum Night. From 7 p.m. until 2 a.m., more than 250 cultural venues and museums will open their doors with free admission. And the best news: all public transportation is free. Here’s how to get the Free Pass for Museum Night.
Free transportation on Museum Night: where to get the free pass to get around Buenos Aires
To travel for free during Museum Night, all you need to do is download the special pass in PDF format, which will be available on the official Museum Night website once it’s activated—likely a few days before the event.
You’ll need to save it on your phone or print it out, and show it when you board any bus within the City of Buenos Aires. The Museum Night free pass is available from 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, until 3 a.m. on Sunday.
The pass is valid on all bus lines operating in the city. In addition, the eBus runs a special route every 15 minutes, connecting the main museums and extending all the way to the Usina del Arte, one of the epicenters of this year’s event.
Important: Get your cultural pass ahead of time and check your route before heading out (you can do this on the Museum Night website). The website also lets you find the museums closest to your location.
If you prefer to get around by bike, the Ecobici system offers a free pass, available from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. With this pass, you can take up to four trips of 45 minutes each—a perfect way to enjoy the night outdoors without worrying about traffic.
Free Subway
The subway is also free during Museum Night, and you don’t need to show the PDF pass. Lines A, C, E, H, and the Premetro run from 6 p.m. until their usual closing time. Lines B and D extend their hours until 2 a.m.
📍 Stations with extended hours:
Line D: Congreso, Olleros, Palermo, Scalabrini Ortiz, Pueyrredón, Callao, 9 de Julio, and Catedral.
Line B: Rosas, Lacroze, Dorrego, Ángel Gallardo, Medrano, Pueyrredón, Carlos Pellegrini, and Leandro N. Alem.
Museum Night: A night with more than 250 venues open
Museums, cultural centers, galleries, and historic buildings open their doors with special offerings: exhibitions, live music, guided tours, and activities for the whole family. From the National Museum of Fine Arts to the Usina del Arte, including neighborhood gems like the Perlotti Museum or the Film Museum, the entire city becomes one big cultural circuit.
Download the free pass before Saturday, November 14, and get ready for the night of the year.
