The Buenos Aires Government confirmed how public services will operate on Wednesday December 24 and Thursday December 25, two holidays in Buenos Aires. From hospitals and transportation to waste collection, parking and cultural spaces, here we tell you what is open, what is closed and what will be on duty on Christmas and Christmas Eve.
1. Health: Hospitals with active guards
In these dates it is important to know what is open on December 25 in Buenos Aires, especially if you have to rush out for health issues. During both days, the emergency rooms and critical areas of all hospitals in Buenos Aires will be open 24 hours a day.
However, outpatient clinics, vaccinatories, CeSACs and CEMARs will be closed. If it is not an emergency, it is better to reschedule.
2. Schools
Schools will be closed on December 24 and 25.
3. Cemeteries: special schedules
Tuesday, December 24:
Inhumations in Chacarita, Flores and Recoleta, and the entrance to the Crematory of the city, from 9 to 12hs.
Last procedure at 11 am and last burial at 11.30 am.
Wednesday, December 25th:
Inhumations from 9 to 12, only to deposit, at Chacarita Cemetery.
4. Procedures and offices: almost all closed
If you were planning to take advantage of Christmas to do some paperwork, we tell you what is open on December 24 and 25 in Buenos Aires. During December 24 and December 25, the following offices and public offices will be closed: AGIP and Dirección General de Rentas, Municipal Offices, Dirección General de Infracciones, Registro de licencias de conducir (Roca office), Pista de aprendizaje, Plantas de Verificación Técnica Vehicular (VTV), Registro Civil: only the death ward will be open from 8 am to 12 noon.
5. Garbage collection: be careful with taking out the garbage.
December 24: no garbage collection.
December 25: the service operates normally. Key information to avoid fines and bad smells.
6. Parking: more flexible, but with exceptions
During holidays: Parking will be allowed in avenues and streets where it is normally forbidden from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 9 pm.
Metered parking will not be in force.
Attention: parking is still forbidden 24 hours a day in passages, Metrobus, streets of coexistence and next to bicycle lanes. Signage rules.
7. Subways and Premetro

Tolls will operate normally, considering weekend peak hours:
