Tired of co-working? Do you have a small business or enterprise in Buenos Aires and would love a small but special office where you can work in a really special environment? We tell you that it exists because you can have an office inside a Monastery and in the heart of downtown Buenos Aires.
This Monastery in Buenos Aires rents out cells as offices: work among gardens, divine spaces and inner peace.
Nestled between San Martín, Viamonte, Reconquista and Córdoba streets, is the Monastery of Santa Catalina de Siena. It was built in the 18th century to house the Dominican nuns of the Second Order. The monastery was inaugurated in 1745 and is considered the first convent of nuns in Buenos Aires and was declared a National Historic Monument. It has colonial cloisters, brick walls, silent galleries, interior courtyards and also cells that are no longer in use and that you can rent as offices .
The Dominican nuns lived in Santa Catalina until 1974. After that year, the building passed to the Archbishopric of Buenos Aires and, in 2001, a restoration process began. That is why the old cells of the convent were adapted to function as modern offices without losing their historical essence.
The spaces vary between 17 and 50 square meters approximately and have all the amenities that an office needs: air conditioning hot/cold, wifi, bathrooms and kitchen for common use, in addition to having services included such as cleaning, security, electricity, gas, water and ABL. Can you imagine entering every day to work in a building with more than 250 years of history?
