If you love the Teatro Colón and any opportunity is a good one to visit it, throughout 2026 the Teatro Colón is opening its doors to Philharmonic rehearsals completely free of charge. Here’s what you need to do to be part of this unmissable free event.
The Teatro Colón is opening Philharmonic rehearsals to the public for FREE: here are the dates and how to reserve your spot
There are plans that seem impossible in Buenos Aires… until they happen. This is one of them: now you can enter the Teatro Colón without paying admission and enjoy a unique experience that very few people know about.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic, a special initiative has been launched that allows you to attend dress rehearsals in the main hall of the Teatro Colón completely free of charge. Yes, the very same stage where major concerts are held, but from the inside and without paying an admission fee (though you do need to reserve a spot).
How to watch the free rehearsals at the Teatro Colón
Getting a spot isn’t complicated, but you have to be on the lookout because reservations are made through Boti, the official WhatsApp account of the city of Buenos Aires. Just text 11 5050-0147 with the message: “Philharmonic Rehearsal” and follow the steps.
An important note! To reserve tickets, you must have a MiBA account. If you don’t live in Buenos Aires, you can still go if someone who does have an account reserves tickets and adds you as a guest.
Spots open up a few days before each rehearsal, so if you can’t find a spot the first time, it’s best to try again closer to the date. Each performance has 400 spots available, with a limit of 2 spots per person. And once you confirm, you’ll receive an email with all the details.
What the experience is like on rehearsal day
Entrance is on Libertad Street, and it’s best to arrive early to check in without rushing. Right there, they’ll assign you a seat, which could be in the box seats or the orchestra, so each experience is a little different.
It’s not a formal performance, but that’s precisely what makes it interesting: you can see how the orchestra works, how they fine-tune details, and how the music comes to life from a different perspective.
