Buenos Aires is preparing to add a new attraction like those found in many other major cities around the world: Buenos Aires is finally set to unveil its London Eye, a massive structure in Puerto Madero starting in 2027. We’ll tell you exactly when and where it will be.
The London Eye in Buenos Aires now has an opening date
Buenos Aires is finally set to unveil a mega-structure that puts it on par with cities like London. The “Buenos Aires London Eye” is finally moving forward in Puerto Madero after more than a decade of back-and-forth.
The Buenos Aires London Eye will be installed at Dique 1 in Puerto Madero, on a leased site, with an investment exceeding $8 million.

The initiative began in 2016, but faced multiple obstacles that delayed its completion. Initially, the wheel was to be located at Dique 2. Years later, it was decided to relocate it to Dique 1, where everything now indicates it will finally become a reality.
If the planned deadlines are met, construction will take about 15 months. The opening of the Buenos Aires London Eye is scheduled for mid-2027.
What the Buenos Aires Ferris wheel will be like
This “Buenos Aires London Eye” is a structure that will completely transform the city’s skyline. It will have a diameter of 79 meters, a total height of over 80 meters, 36 enclosed, climate-controlled cabins, and a capacity of 8 people per cabin.
In total, it will be able to carry up to 288 passengers per ride, with trips lasting approximately 20 minutes.
360° views of the river, the city, and the Ecological Reserve
One of the major attractions is the visual experience. From the top, this giant Ferris wheel in Buenos Aires will offer 360-degree panoramic views that include the skyline of Puerto Madero, the Río de la Plata, and the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve.
The structure will not produce annoying noise or hazardous waste, nor will it affect traffic or air traffic.
A new tourist attraction for Buenos Aires
With this project, Buenos Aires aims to offer an experience similar to that of the world’s major capitals, enhancing its tourism offerings with a modern, visually striking, and accessible attraction.
If everything goes according to plan, in a few years the “Buenos Aires London Eye” could become one of the city’s most iconic landmarks starting in mid-2027. Are you going to go see it?
