If you can’t travel to Spain to eat a pinchito, some boquerones or patatas bravas, don’t worry: the Tapeando festival returns in April 2026 with its fifth edition, bigger than ever. This time it expands to five Argentine cities and, for the first time, to Montevideo.
What is Tapeando, the Spanish tapas festival?
Tapeando is a gastronomic festival that celebrates Spanish tapas culture in Argentina. Each year, dozens of restaurants and bars create special tapas inspired by Spanish cuisine, so you feel like you’re traveling through Spain without leaving Buenos Aires.
In this fifth edition of the tapas festival, you will be able to visit restaurants in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, Mar del Plata, Mendoza, and also Montevideo.
To help you discover the Tapeando restaurants more easily, here is an interactive map:
This fifth edition of Tapeando will be held from April 3 to 12, 2026, and you don’t need to make a reservation or sign up to visit the participating restaurants. All you need is the desire to enjoy tapas and visit the participating bars during the 10 days of the festival.
This year, Tapeando crosses the Río de la Plata and arrives in Montevideo from April 17 to 26, 2026.
The Tapa Contest is back: How you can win tickets to Spain
In this edition, Tapeando returns with its Tapa Contest, where you can vote for your favorite tapa from all the participating restaurants in Argentina and Uruguay through an online vote. If you participate with your vote, you could win two tickets to Spain. So go ahead and try some of the most iconic Spanish tapas: patatas bravas, ham or cod croquettes, anchovies in vinegar, Spanish omelet, Catalan-style bread with tomato, or garlic shrimp.
At Tapeando, all you have to do is find the participating restaurants in the cities hosting the festival from April 3 to 12 in Argentina (or from April 17 to 26 in Montevideo), order the special Tapeando tapa at each place, and vote for your favorite to enter the drawing for tickets to Spain.
