Steve from Stranger Things is in Buenos Aires. The actor and musician behind Djo, Steve Harrington, is in Buenos Aires and has already started touring the city before his performance at Lollapalooza. We’ll tell you about his itinerary of activities and the 5-star hotel where he’s staying.
Steve from Stranger Things is in Buenos Aires: Joe Keery is out and about in Buenos Aires before Lollapalooza. Do you know which hotel he is staying at?
Hawkins is in Buenos Aires. Joe Keery, the actor who brought Steve Harrington to life in Stranger Things, landed in Buenos Aires this week and within hours was already exploring the city like a local. Wearing a leather jacket, wool hat, and sunglasses, the 33-year-old American immersed himself in the city and quickly became a trending topic.
The official reason for his visit is musical: Joe Keery is in Buenos Aires as Djo, his solo project of modern psychedelia and synth-pop that exploded with End of Beginning, a song that surpassed two billion plays on Spotify and reached number one worldwide in 2026. He played on Wednesday at C Art Media as an anticipated sideshow, and this Friday the 13th he will take the Flow Stage at Lollapalooza Argentina at the San Isidro Racetrack.
But before hitting the stages in Buenos Aires, Joe Keery took the time to do something that very few international artists bother to do: really get to know the city.
Steve Harrington is staying at the Faena Hotel in Puerto Madero, the iconic design hotel on the waterfront that has been the headquarters for international stars passing through Buenos Aires for years.
From there, he set off to explore Palermo, where neighbors spotted him walking through the streets between Plaza Italia and the bars of Palermo Soho. On Wednesday, he appeared at La Bombonera to watch the classic match between Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo, valid for the 10th round of the 2026 Professional League Apertura Tournament, from one of the stadium’s boxes, experiencing the game from the inside.
Djo, the musician who built himself beyond Hawkins
Keery’s musical career began long before End of Beginning became a phenomenon. He was first part of Post Animal, an indie band from Chicago. Then, in 2019, he launched Djo as a solo project: a mix of psychedelia, indie pop, and retro 70s aesthetics.
His most recent album, The Crux Deluxe, cemented his status as one of the most interesting names on the international alternative circuit. And End of Beginning, the song that made him known beyond Stranger Things fans.
