Buenos Aires has spectacular buildings of all architectural styles but there is one that is very little known and of which there are very few examples. In the neighborhood of Pompeya you can discover one of the few neo-Gothic buildings in CABA that also contains an oatio worthy of a Tim Burton movie. Come and visit this neo-gothic temple from 1900.
The Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary in Pompeya is one of the few neo-Gothic buildings in the city. In addition to an imposing architectural structure, you will be amazed by its German stained glass windows representing the fifteen mysteries of the Holy Rosary. The light passes through these stained glass windows and transforms the interior of this porteño Gothic temple into a movie set.
You have to walk up to the altar and discover its hidden cloister, a small enclosed garden surrounded by columns, benches, trees and a central fountain. In addition to its architecture, the parish has three altars: one of white marble dedicated to St. Francis and St. Clare, and two of wood, one dedicated to the Sacred Heart and the other to the Immaculate Conception.
This temple is also special because it pays homage with two plaques to two giants of Argentine music: Homero Manzi and Aníbal Troilo ,
