Benito Quinquela Martín (1890-1977) was one of the most representative painters of Argentine art. He was born in La Boca and loved to paint his neighborhood, so he dedicated his work to portraying the daily life of the port of Buenos Aires: shipyards, ships and workers. His style is easy to recognize: it is full of color and captures the spirit of a working class city in transformation.
Technology at the service of art
