For the first time in Argentina, more than 20 traditional Japanese drums will come together on the stage of Teatro el Globo for one night only, allowing you to be swept away by the thunderous sound and magic of a unique musical experience set against a spectacular stage production.
A sensory journey through Japan’s four seasons
Far from being a traditional concert , KYŌWA combines physical strength and movement to immerse you in the world of taiko, an ancient art form.
The performance is conceived as a journey through the four seasons of the year in Japan, combining passages with duets created especially for the occasion.
On September 5, you’ll witness the power and energy of 20 Japanese drums—some over three meters tall—interacting live with other traditional instruments such as the shinobue (bamboo flute) and the shamisen (three-stringed instrument).
An ancient journey through Japan via the Taiko
This show not only offers you the chance to immerse yourself in the sound of taiko and the majesty of hearing and seeing yourself surrounded by 20 Japanese drums, but you’ll also witness on stage the collaboration between the Argentine ensemble Nikyokan Wadaiko and the American group UnitOne.
The evening culminates with the presence of Yuta Kato, one of the most acclaimed taiko masters outside of Japan, who is coming to Buenos Aires for one of his final performances before his retirement. All of this is enhanced by a spectacular stage production where monumental drums over three meters tall will acoustically envelop the venue.
