This summer, Buenos Aires adds an event that combines fantasy, history, and fan culture. On January 25, Medievalcon arrives, one of the largest medieval conventions in Argentina, which this year offers a special edition dedicated to The Lord of the Rings. An event designed for families, fantasy fans, and lovers of medieval aesthetics, with activities, reenactments, and live shows to create a different plan for that weekend.
Archery, medieval combat, and artisans in Chacarita: The Lord of the Rings event comes to Buenos Aires for one day only
Medievalcon will be held on Sunday , January 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the C Complejo Art Media in Chacarita. This will be the third edition of the convention and will focus on The Lord of the Rings movie, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring. Therefore, those who attend dressed in full fantasy or medieval costumes can enter free of charge.
Medieval activities that can be enjoyed throughout the day
Throughout the afternoon, the event will feature a craft fair with jewelry, blacksmithing, goldsmithing, carpentry, and tailoring stalls, along with medieval activities such as archery, combat demonstrations, and historical reenactments. The program will be rounded out with live shows and a cosplay contest.
Everything takes place in a covered, air-conditioned space, allowing visitors to enjoy the convention in comfort even during the summer. There is also a food and beverage court, designed to accompany a day full of activities and shows in the different areas of the venue.
On the same days, the fantasy of The Lord of the Rings can also be experienced in another format in Buenos Aires. The city adds the Candlelight: The Lord of the Rings concert, a tribute to the trilogy’s soundtrack, performed live by candlelight.
