Books are powerful, and that is what this mass reading in Buenos Aires on one of the most beautiful terraces in Recoleta wants to remind us. Read in silence, but in company. With different books, but in the same place. That is the proposal that invites you to transform the terrace of the Recoleta Cultural Center into a large shared reading space.
Mass Reading in Buenos Aires: on the Terrace of a Historic Building: Book exchange and a sunset reading Bring your book!
The slogan is simple and powerful: fill the terrace of the Recoleta Cultural Center with people reading and experience reading surrounded by hundreds of people, in silence, and then comment, look at each other, chat, meet strangers, and discover new friendships through reading.
What is the mass reading in Recoleta like this January?
The mass reading on January 31 in Buenos Aires begins with 30 minutes of silent reading: each person brings their own book, but everyone reads together in the same space. Afterwards, there will be a time for conversation to share feelings, thoughts, and whatever else you want. Imagine being surrounded by hundreds of people reading silently outdoors on the terrace of the CC Recoleta, in Plaza Francia, surrounded by greenery.

To close the afternoon, there will also be raffles, book releases, and book exchanges, so the invitation is clear: bring your used books to exchange and give them a new life.
The aim of this mass reading is to break with the idea that reading is a solitary activity and propose it as a shared, almost ritualistic experience. And, of course, you will have the opportunity to meet people and make friends who love reading.
Don’t forget to bring mate and pastries and sign up here, because this is an event with limited capacity.
