July is here, and with it come new increases in public transportation fares. Below, we’ll break down the fares by section so you know exactly how much you’ll be paying starting this month.
Commuter Trains (Effective July 1)
The first blow to the wallet comes at the start of the month for all metropolitan lines (Sarmiento, Roca, Mitre, San Martín, Belgrano Sur, Belgrano Norte, and Urquiza). Fares are increasing by 8.6%:
- Minimum fare with a registered SUBE card: It goes from the current $350 to $380.
- Unregistered SUBE card: The fare will be $700.
- Cash payment: If you buy your ticket at the ticket window with cash, the flat fare will be $1,400 for any leg of the trip.
Buses: What will the fares be starting July 1?
National lines will see a slight increase of 2%:
- Minimum fare (with a registered SUBE card): Increases from $728.28 to $742.81 (0–3 km zone).
- Social Fare: Those eligible for this benefit will pay $408.54.
- Unregistered SUBE card: The minimum fare rises to $1,485. 62.
Buses in the City of Buenos Aires
Lines that operate exclusively within the City of Buenos Aires (CABA) are implementing a 4.1% increase:
- Minimum fare: Set at $820.99.
Buses in the Province of Buenos Aires
For lines in the Buenos Aires area, the increase is higher, as it combines a fixed 2% increase plus the carryover from May’s inflation rate (2.1%):
- Minimum fare (0 to 3 km): now set at $1063.98.
- 3–6 km: increases to $1,196. 97.
- 6–12 km: increases to $1,329. 97.
Subway and Tolls: Traveling in Buenos Aires Is More Expensive
Getting around quickly on Buenos Aires’ highways and subways will also see changes this July 2026:
👉Illia Highway: The toll will be updated to $2,665. 99.
👉Subway: The fare on the subway system will be $1,621 for all users with a registered SUBE card.
👉City Highway Tolls: Private cars will now pay higher tolls depending on the route:
👉Perito Moreno and 25 de Mayo highways: The pass will cost $6,412. 68.
