Only for this Saturday, August 23rd at 3 pm, the Buenos Aires D subway becomes a library on wheels with the return of the Vagón de Lectores (Readers’ Wagon), a wagon where only people reading books will travel. And you!
Subway D opens a carriage just for readers this weekend: the only requirement is to bring your own book.
The Vagón de Lectores initiative invites you to fill the D Line with books, in a trip that starts at Catedral Station and arrives at Congreso de Tucumán this August 23rd at 3pm.
During the trip, each person on the train can immerse themselves in their own reading, while sharing the space with dozens of other people who will be doing the same thing: reading.
So that no one is left without a copy, @bibliotecasba makes books available for loan. In addition, when you get to the final station there are raffles, exchange and release of books: a great opportunity to exchange those titles you have already read and take home new stories.
Beyond the activity itself, the idea behind the book wagon is to show that reading is not a solitary act, but a collective experience that connects people in a different way. Participation is free and open to everyone. The only requirement: bring your favorite book and, if you want, add mate and bills to complete the experience.
