Easter Week is celebrated from April 17 to 20, 2025. These four-day holidays make Semana Santa an ideal long weekend for a quick getaway from Buenos Aires or to enjoy more time with the kids. But if you’re not going anywhere, you’re kid-free and just want to enjoy yourself, with or without friends, there’s too much going on in Buenos Aires to stay home.
We put together a small compilation so you can choose between being outdoors, watching theater, sightseeing or just let yourself go and discover some of the many things that will be happening during Easter in Buenos Aires.
1. Origami Workshop at the Japanese Garden
If you don’t know what to do this Easter in Buenos Aires, a relaxing option is to go to the Japanese Garden and participate in the Origami Workshop organized this Thursday, April 17. Come and learn the millenary art of making figures with paper. As this is a special Easter workshop, you will learn how to make, no more and no less, than rabbits.

If you want to be outdoors this Easter, and you like the idea of dancing and meeting people, do not miss the cycle of meetings in the dry square of the Palacio Libertad. Florecen las Peñas are meetings to get together to learn folkloric dances and dance outdoors after each class. This cycle starts this April 17 at 6pm, so if you are looking for something to do this Easter 2025 in Buenos Aires, you already have a plan.

4. Malbec Week 2025
Although International Malbec Day is commemorated on April 17, the celebrations extend beyond. From April 18 to 20, the Palacio Libertad in Puerto Madero is the setting for La Semana del Malbec, an event open to the public that invites you to toast during three days with Argentine wines, typical dishes and live music. All in the open air and with no entrance fee.

5. Visit the Easter Park with the family.
During Easter 2025, Buenos Aires has, as last year, an ideal space for families: the Easter Park for children and adults to enjoy days full of games, creative proposals and musical shows.
In the city’s Easter Park you will find from workshops to live shows with children’s artists. All the events take place in Plaza Seeber, located next to the Rose Garden and the Palermo Woods.

6. I toured fairs and strolls
Walk along Defensa Street and enjoy getting lost in the streets of San Telmo and its antique fair is always an adventure and during Easter week, even more. Take the opportunity to enjoy a good ice cream or one of the many cafes that surround Plaza Dorrego. And if you are hungry, the Desnivel has one of the best choripanes in the world, according to an international ranking. So, Easter week in Buenos Aires lost in San Telmo sounds like a great plan.

It is served for one diner but can be perfectly shared. Because at Easter, not everyone is an Easter egg.
