Did you know that in Recoleta hides a French architectural jewel that very few know inside? It is the Ortiz Basualdo Palace, the headquarters of the French Embassy in Argentina, which opens its doors to the public in September during the European Heritage Days.
The Ortiz Basualdo Palace was designed at the beginning of the 20th century by the French architect Paul Pater, and is considered one of the most remarkable buildings of the Belle Époque in Buenos Aires. Since 1939, the Ortiz Basualdo Palace has housed the French Embassy: elegant facade, refined interiors and details typical of French architecture of the time, in September you will be able to visit it for free.
European Heritage Days: how to visit this Belle Epoque palace in Buenos Aires
This September 20 and 21, the Embassy opens the doors of the Palace as part of the European Heritage Days, a cultural event where you will discover historic buildings that are not usually open to the public and this embassy palace is one of them.
Joining the guided tours of the Embassy of Buenos Aires is free but you will have to reserve your place by filling in your details on September 9 in the link that you will find in the BIO of the Instagram profile of the embassy: @franceargentine. Spaces are limited.
