Buenos Aires is preparing to host a massive outdoor exhibition of tanks, armored vehicles, simulators, and military trucks. If you’ve never been to Expo Ejército, you can’t miss this year’s event from May 30 to June 6. For four days, the area around the Edificio Libertador will be transformed into a family-friendly space where you can stroll among movie-worthy tanks —all with free admission.
Expo Ejército 2026: What You Need to Know to Make the Most of Your Free Visit
Starting May 30, a free exhibition in Buenos Aires dedicated to tanks, trucks, and armored vehicles that look like they’re straight out of a movie will be set up on Paseo Colón Avenue.
This expo takes over the sidewalk and open spaces in front of the Edificio Libertador, just a few blocks from Plaza de Mayo and the towers of Puerto Madero.
If you love the tanks and military equipment seen in movies and parades, this is your chance to see tanks up close and even touch them. You’ll get to see combat vehicles like tanks and tactical armored vehicles, off-road trucks, and highly complex transport systems firsthand, as well as military navigation and driving simulators for both adults and children.
This year’s major debuts: Stryker 8×8 and Unimog U4000
This 2026 edition will debut the Stryker 8×8, a state-of-the-art armored vehicle designed for rapid troop transport that was recently added to the ground forces alongside the Unimog U4000, a massive off-road truck.
Simulators, live bands, and activities for kids
Expo Ejército 2026 is an urban festival perfect for families, where, in addition to vehicles, you’ll be able to enjoy interactive tents with educational activities, live demonstrations, and play areas for the little ones.
Another must-see is the live military bands playing marches and music on Avenida Paseo Colón.
If you’re looking for a free, outdoor activity for your weekends in Buenos Aires, make sure to stop by downtown Buenos Aires to walk among giant tanks and armored vehicles.
