La Última Fortaleza is the new virtual reality experience where you explore the medieval city of Carcassonne and its secrets without leaving Buenos Aires
Imagine walking along the walls of a medieval French city in the year 1304, encountering knights, witches, and dragons. That’s exactly what La Última Fortaleza offers—the new virtual reality experience coming to La Rural on March 20.
What is this immersive experience that takes you to a medieval castle?
It’s 45 minutes of complete immersion in Carcassonne, Europe’s largest fortified city and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The adventure follows Simon and Agnès on a journey through Carcassonne in 1304. An era marked by the power of kings, tensions between the monarchy and the Church, and the Inquisition.
The experience also shows the city from the inside: markets, night guards on the walls, combat training, and the chambers of the nobility. If you want to explore a medieval city in Buenos Aires in detail, this is your chance.
A historical reconstruction on another level
The experience at La Rural is called The Last Fortress, and it’s not just about the technology but the meticulousness with which it was built. The project was developed in collaboration with experts from France’s Centre des Monuments Nationaux, who ensured the historical accuracy of every architectural and cultural detail.
The 3D design teams realistically recreated the architecture, landscapes, and daily life of the city. The result is an experience that combines cinematic storytelling, historical research, and state-of-the-art technology.
