This December the Candlelight concerts are coming to a new space in Buenos Aires: the Main Chapel of Colegio La Salle. An imposing place, declared historical heritage and with a special acoustics in which now you will be able to enjoy live music by candlelight. The premiere will be on December 13 and, in addition to these first performances, new dates are already available.
Soundtracks and a tribute to Queen inaugurate the new series of concerts in the Main Chapel of Colegio La Salle.
The Main Chapel was inaugurated in 1912 and is one of those spaces that impress as soon as you enter: the height of the nave with two levels of columns, the arched ceiling and the red altar at the back, framed by the light that enters from the lateral stained glass windows, give it a presence that is not seen in other places where concerts are usually held in Buenos Aires.
That is why it works so well as a new venue for Candlelight.
The first date will be December 13, with a tribute to Queen at 7:00 pm and a program of epic soundtracks at 9:30 pm. These are the inaugural performances at the chapel and open a series of concerts that will continue throughout the weekend.
The two concerts will be given by the Velse quartet (two violins, viola and cello), who will play surrounded by thousands of candles distributed throughout the chapel. The acoustics of the place naturally amplifies the sound of the strings, and added to the lighting and architecture, generates a different atmosphere.
Tickets are now available from $27,000 and, as it is the premiere, it is advisable to book in advance. Doors open 45 minutes before the beginning of the concert, so be sure to plan your arrival well: once the concert starts, the entrance is not allowed.
