The Casa de la Cultura offers a great program if you are looking for free things to do in Buenos Aires. Throughout the year, the building opens its halls for chamber music concerts, popular music presentations, lyrical gatherings, milongas and visual exhibitions.
The activities take place in emblematic spaces such as the Salón Dorado, the Central Patio and the Underground, which also allows you to discover the nooks and crannies of this beautiful building on Avenida de Mayo. Most of the proposals are free admission, although some activities have limited capacity depending on the capacity of each room.

The program of Casa de la Culutra this summer includes from intimate concerts to dance meetings and visual exhibitions:
Agenda of activities (January – February) at the Casa de la Cultura.
👉Milonga de Campeones: tango cycle with classes, DJ, exhibitions and milonga every Monday in January, from 6pm to 9pm at the Subsuelo, ideal to dance 2×4 and connect with the tango scene.
👉Subrayados (reading workshop): literary workshops on Tuesdays January 13, 20 and 27 from 6pm to 8pm, a space for shared reading and conversation.
👉Tertulias Líricas: meetings of vocal music café concert style every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Underground, with varied repertoires of opera and song.
👉A Bailar! The movement that unites us: artistic and community dance project, with classes and meetings Tuesdays and Thursdays from January to March (prior registration).
👉Brain and body in action (wellness and movement workshop): sessions every Wednesday from January 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Underground.
👉Summer memories (reading and exploration workshop): Thursdays in January and February, starting on the 8th, in a space to read and reflect on texts that evoke summer.
👉Mesa Compartida: Crónicas de la Buenos Aires cotidiana: meeting on Saturdays at 7 pm from January 17 to discuss stories of the city.
👉Wellness Workshop: Yoga, breathing and meditation: Saturdays from January 10 at 11 am at the Underground, to relax and connect mind and body.

One of the great attractions of the Casa de la Cultura are its guided tours. The building was inaugurated in 1898 as the headquarters of the newspaper La Prensa and today is considered one of the greatest exponents of the Beaux Arts style in Buenos Aires. It is currently declared a National Historic Monument.

During the tour you will visit historic halls, corridors and spaces that preserve technological systems ahead of their time. Among the most impressive spaces is the Golden Hall, inspired by the Palace of Versailles, today used for concerts and cultural events.
