Steps away from the Obelisk, there is a Buenos Aires palace that guards a key part of our political, symbolic and cultural history. And the best part: today you can visit it through guided tours open to the public. Come and discover the Cangallo Palace, headquarters of the Freemasonry in Buenos Aires.
This is the Cangallo Palace, the palace made temple of Freemasonry that can be visited on guided tours.
Behind its neoclassical façade, with monumental columns and symmetrical design, the Cangallo Palace houses a Masonic temple, a historical library and the Great Temple: a ceremonial hall crowned by a starry ceiling and a central mural representing the “Universal Energy”, work of the artist Enrique Fabris.

Each space of the Cangallo Palace is loaded with symbolism, rituals and references since it is the headquarters of Freemasonry in Buenos Aires. The architecture of the Cangallo Palace was designed by the engineer Carlos E. Pellegrini and finished by Francisco Tamburini, also the author of the Colon Theater.
In spite of being private and only for members, this Masonic temple opens its doors to the public in special events and guided visits organized by the Grand Lodge. During the tour you can visit the historic halls, understand the meaning of the symbols and learn about the legacy of figures such as Mitre, Sarmiento, Yrigoyen and Palacios, all of them Masons.
How to participate in guided tours of the Cangallo Palace
